To enhance versatility and safety, and reduce costs.SOLUTION: An overturning prevention device 10 is used for a shelf body 1 (installation object) whose movement in a back surface direction is regulated by a wall surface WA of a building, and includes: a lower trestle 12 installed on an installation surface F along a back and forth direction of the shelf body 1; an upper trestle 14 fixed to the undersurface of the shelf body 1 and disposed on the lower trestle 12, which moves to the front FR on the lower trestle 12 when force in a direction moving to the front FR is applied to the shelf body 1, and is configured so that the front part 14F is movable upward; and a restraining part 16 intervening between the upper part of the shelf body 1 and the wall surface WA, which suppresses the movement of the upper part away from the wall surface WA, and allows the shelf body 1 to be inclined with respect to the wall surface WA.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
