Abstract:
PURPOSE:To narrow particle diameter distribution and reduce mean particle diameter by crosslinking a specific polysiloxane block and a specific vinyl polymer block with each other. CONSTITUTION:The title particle comprises a copolymer wherein 97-20wt.% polysiloxane block consisting of 99.9-0mol% structural units of formula I and 0.1-100mol% structural units of formula II [wherein (a) is 0-3; (m) is 0-2, and (n) is 1-3 provided that 1<=m+n; R<1> and R<2> are each a (non-)substd., (non-)radical hydrocarbon group having C directly bound to Si; and R<3> is a group of A-B wherein A is 2C or 3C alkylene directly bound to Si and B is at least one group selected from the group consisting of a direct bond, groups of formulas III and IV, and S] and 3-80wt.% vinyl polymer block obtd. by polymerizing a radical-polymerizable ethylenically unsatd. vinyl monomer are crosslinked with each other through a linking group comprising R<3> in the polysiloxane block. The particle has a mean diameter of 0.05-30mum, a standard deviation of the diameter of of 1.0-2.5, and a ratio of the major to the minor diameter of 1.0-1.2.
