To provide a paper feeder which can reliably inject air between sheets while controlling curling of tips of the sheets without hindering sucking operation of the sheets by a sheet conveyance belt.
Each sheet regulating member 93 is located at a position which faces both ends of tips of an upper face of a sheet bundle and is located at a height about 2-4 mm above the upper face of the sheet bundle. Even when a plurality of recording sheets in an upper layer of the sheet bundle are curled and rolled back in low humidity environment, both ends of the recording paper abut on each sheet regulating member 93 to regulate curling of the recording sheets, and the recording papers are kept almost flat. Accordingly, air from each exhaust hole 86b of an exhaust duct 86 quickly enters between the recording sheets, thereby separating the recording sheets. Each of the recording papers can be sucked and drawn out from the sheet bundle by each sheet regulating member 93, thereby preventing multiple feed of the recording sheets.
