PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of creases by thrusting the fold side of a sheet, folded in one direction, desirably into a folding roller pair.
CONSTITUTION: A sheet guide member 34 is provided with a through passage 40 formed by a pair of opposed members 34a, 34b. On the outlet side of the through passage 40, a crease preventive protruding part 42 is formed in correspondence with the sheet fold side of the opposed member 34a. At the time of the sheet guide member 34 getting a sheet thrusted into the second folding roller pair side, the fold side of the sheet is partially struck in by the protruding part 42. As a result, the whole width direction thrust of the sheet into the second folding roller pair can be performed smoothly so as to prevent the generation of creases.
