To provide a photocatalyst-carrying printed matter (especially, a wall paper) that has a photocatalyst strongly carried thereon, has sharp color images with less or no discoloration with the lapse of time on a portion of the printed design, does not suffer from peeling-off of titanium oxide from a portion of the printed design and that can maintain a comfortable interior environment by decomposing harmful substances such as a malodorous component or the like, and provide a process for producing the photocatalyst-carrying printed matter.
The photocatalyst-carrying printed matter has at least a portion 35 of the printed design formed on a surface of a substrate 31 by printing with an printing ink comprising a photocatalyst particle the surface of which is partially coated with photocatalytically inactive ceramics. Optionally, embossed unevenness is formed on a face having the portion 35 of the printed design by subjecting the face to heating and foaming treatments and a cooling treatment.
