Abstract:
PURPOSE: To attain a picture element modulation signal capable of easily changing a recording position in a picture element by simple circuit constitution in a device for outputting a picture element modulation signal of which pulse width is modulated by a triangular wave in accordance with a gradation level.
CONSTITUTION: A level signal corresponding to either one of the antilogarithm and complement of a gradation level can be outputted from a D/A converter 107. A triangular wave signal (Tr) is compared with the level signal by a comparator 105 to execute pulse width modulation. The polarity (a high level or a low level) of a signal outputted from the comparator 105 as a compared result is switched by a switch 106.
