Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inspect polishing quality at an electrode tip end with high precision.
SOLUTION: In a polishing quality inspecting device A for a spot welding electrode, the center of the tip end surface of the electrode 1 exposing from an inspecting hole 13 which is formed in the seat part 11 of a positioning housing 3 is irradiated by inspecting light beams 21 from a light emitting part 17, and the inspecting light beams 21 reflected by the center of the tip end surface of the electrode 1 are received by a light receiving part 18. A light quantity of the inspecting light beams 21 received by the light receiving part 18 is measured, for example, as a reflected light quantity by being converted into current with a receiving element. 'Polishing is not satisfactory' is judged when the reflected light quantity of measured inspecting light beams 21 is smaller than a prescribed value, while 'polishing is excellent' is judged when it is larger than the value.
