Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I and/or formula II (X is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or halogen).
EXAMPLE: 5H,10H,17H,20H-Quino[2,3-b]quino[2',3';6,7]quino[2,3-j]acridine-7, 8, 15, 22-tetraone.
USE: Pigment exhibiting deep violet color.
PROCESS: The objective compound can be prepared by the intramolecular cyclization of the acridonecarboxylic acid derivative of formula III (R is H or lower alkyl) [e.g. 2,2'-(1,4-phenylenediimino)-bis(9-acridone-3-carboxylic acid)] in the presence of preferably 0.1W10wt% of a condensation agent (e.g. polyphosphoric acid, etc.).
