PURPOSE: To obtain a polyphenylene sulfide resin composition having excellent strength, friction and abrasion resistance properties even in a small amount of blended carbon fibers, by blending the polyphenylene sulfide with carbon fibers polytetrafluoroethylene, glass fibers and inorganic filler in respective specific amounts.

CONSTITUTION: A resin composition obtained by blending polyphenylene sulfide resin with (A) 2W15wt.%, preferably 3W7wt.% carbon fibers, (B) 2W25wt.%, preferably 3W20wt.% fine powder of tetrafluoroethylene (co)polymer, (C) 15W30wt.% glass fibers and (D) 15W30wt.% inorganic filler (e.g. calcium carbonate, mica, talc or clay) so as to provide ≤65wt.% total amount of the components (A)W(D) based on the polyphenylene sulfide resin, mixing the obtained blend in a Henschel mixer and pelletizing the blend in an extruder.
