Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positively chargeable toner for electrostatic charge image development, capable of easily cleaning a dispersant and metal ions when a toner is manufactured by an emulsion aggregation method and suppressing viscosity variation of toner particles to satisfy both heat-resistant preservability and fixability.SOLUTION: The toner for electrostatic charge image development is formed by aggregating at least fine particles including a binder resin and fine particles including a colorant in the presence of a dispersant and metal ions in an aqueous medium to form fine particle aggregates, heating the fine particle aggregates and unifying components included in the fine particle aggregates. A (meta) acrylic resin or styrene-(meta) acrylic resin having a predetermined quaternary ammonium is used as the binder resin, and the degree of hydrophobicity (methanol wettability) is adjusted in a predetermined range.
