Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To combine compactness, silence and a high reduction gear ratio by rational constitution in a power transmission apparatus. SOLUTION: This power transmission apparatus 44 is provided with an orthogonal gear reducer 48 for transmitting rotational power inputted to an input shaft 50, to an output shaft 58 via a hypoid gear set 60 provided at the input shaft 50. In this constitution, a friction reduction gear 49 of simple planetary frictional transmission structure having a sun roller 64, a planetary roller 66 coming in rotational contact with the sun roller 64, a ring roller 68 disposed coaxially with the sun roller 64 and allowing the planetary roller 66 to come in to rotational contact with its own inner periphery, and a carrier 70 taking off the revolving motion of the planetary roller 66, to transmit it to the input shaft 50 of the orthogonal gear reducer 48, is disposed on the preceding stage side of the orthogonal gear reducer gear 48. Further, the input shaft 50 which receives axial reaction from the hypoid gear set 60 is connected to the carrier 70 in the interruptible state of transmission of the reaction to the carrier 70.
