Abstract:
PURPOSE:To contrive a higher printing speed and a higher reading speed, by providing an ink ribbon having a plurality of color band regions and a color filter having a plurality of transparent color band regions, and selectively opposing each of the color band regions to a printing head and a reading head by a single driving mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A ribbon 28 comprises an ink ribbon 29 comprising color band regions 29a-29c corresponding respectively to yellow, magenta and cyan colors and corresponding in width to a printing hed 11, in the width direction of the ribbon 29, and a color filter 31 comprising a transparent color band regions 31a-31c corresponding respectively to red, green and blue colors and corresponding in width to the head 13, in the width direction of the filter 31. When a Cassette 17 is mounted on a support plate 19, the ink ribbon 29 and the color filter 31 are located respectively between a printing end face of the printing head 11 and a recording paper set on a platen 3 and between a reading end face of a reading head 13 and the paper. Spools 30a, 30b for the ribbon 28 are connected respectively to ribbon-feeding stepping motors 15, 16, and the ribbon 28 is fed in the direction of an arrow A or an arrow B by selectively driving the motors 15, 16.
