Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compound in a mild condition and in high yield by using a safe hydrazine and an azo derivative compound as raw materials.
SOLUTION: This compound is obtained by carrying out a coupling reaction of a compound of formula I (Z1 is an acyl, a carbamoyl or an aryloxycarbonyl; X1-X5 are each H or a substituent group with the proviso that the sum of the Hammett substituent constant values σp of X1, X3 and X5 plus the Hammett substituent constant values σm of X2 and X4 are within a range of ≥0.80 and ≤3.80) or a compound of formula II (Z2 is same as Z1; R3 is a heterocyclic group) to a coupling component in the presence of an oxidant. For example, an azo dye compound of formula V is produced from the compound of formula III and the compound of formula IV as a coupler, dissolving the reaction product in acetonitrile together with N-ethyl-diisopropylamine and adding argenic oxide to carry out the reaction.
