Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce the subject polymer excellent in filtering characteristics with an excellent productivity without limitation of the composition of the polymer polyol by mechanically and forcibly crushing large-size polymer particles in the polymer polyol after completion of polymerization reaction.

CONSTITUTION: After synthesizing a polymer polyol by carrying out polymerization using a polyether polyol, an ethylenically unsaturated monomer, a solvent, a chain transfer agent and a polymerization catalyst according to the conventional method, polymer particles contained in the polymer polyol as the reaction product and incapable of passing through 100 to 700 mesh strainer are forced to be mechanically crushed preferably to ≤4μm size. As the crusher, e.g. a crusher involving a non-porous grinder composed of an upper fixed grindstone and a lower rotary grindstone in the inside can be used. In addition the crushing temperature is preferably 20 to 160°C.
