To obtain a safe and convenient prophylactic agent for fish diseases derived from nature and to provide an alternative product for pork hemoglobin powder conventionally used for treatment of anemic symptom of fishes affected by a cold water disease, an infectious disease, with iridovirus, or the like.
It was found that an excellent prophylactic effect on viral, bacterial and parasitic diseases of fishes is exhibited by mixing bait with an organic iron-containing bacterial cell or a material combined with the organic iron-containing bacterial cell or coating the bait with the bacterial cell or the material and administering the mixture or the coated bait to fishes. The prophylactic agent has effect on the cold water disease and the infectious disease caused by iridovirus having anemic effect.
