Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a public telephone set by which the charging of the fee or communication fee of a portable terminal can be instantaneously attained.
SOLUTION: Data communication between a portable terminal 200 and a public telephone set 100 is executed through a cableless infrared ray. At the time of starting data communication, infrared ray data are issued from an infrared ray emitting and receiving part 201, and received by an infrared ray emitting and receiving part 1, and this is detected by a data communication starting detecting means 4, and the charging of terminal connecting fee is executed by a charging starting means 12. On the other hand, data by the infrared ray received by an infrared ray data receiving means 3 are transmitted through a public network/infrared ray data converting means 6, and switched to either data communication or a telephone by a data/telephone switching means 7, and when the connection of a line is detected by a public network connection detecting means 16, the charging of the communication fee is executed by the above mentioned charging starting means 12.
