Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict flame and pressure pulsation exceeding an allowable pressure range by wrapping flame by a gas envelope flow faster than the flow velocity of flame in an external area in the direction of the flame propagates within a furnace provided inside with a burner to generate the flame and a combustion chamber to which the flame is directed.
SOLUTION: A fuel gas/air mixture flowing out of a burner is ignited to form a flame 12 and enters into a combustion chamber. A gas envelope flow flows in the perimeter of the flame 12 of the burner. This envelope flow is carried into the burner through an annular canal 7 parallel with a burner pipe 2 to wrap a cross piece 3 for generating swirl in proximity. The flow velocity of the gas envelope flow flowing out of a circular slot 9 is accelerated by a jet member 10 so as to be by far faster in the direction of the axis 11 thereof than that of the fuel gas/air mixture. This restricts the pulsation of the flame and a pressure thereby heightening the safety of the operation of furnace equipment.
