Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receptacle type optical connector that can hold an optical element at an accurate position, that has no possibility of breaking because of the adequate elastic deformability of an elastic engaging piece, and that prevents the opposite plug type optical connector from wearing.
SOLUTION: This receptacle type connector 10 has an elastic engaging piece 14 which is designed to face in the direction of the engaging end 15 and which is locked with the plug type optical connector 1 inserted from the engaging end 15, consisting of the first housing 11 in which the elastic engaging piece 14 is installed facing in the direction of the engaging end 15 and the second housing 12 in which an optical components storing part 24 is formed. The first housing 11 is formed with plastics containing a 15 weight% of glass fiber filler so as to be suitable for the elastic deformation of the elastic engaging piece 14, while the second housing 12 is formed with plastics containing a 40 weight% of carbon filler that is more than the contents in the first housing 11.
