PURPOSE: To stabilize recording performance and miniaturize a device by providing the rotating center of a head holding member on the line of action of the tensile force of a sheet being conveyed, and absorbing a push-up force due to tensile force by said rotating center.
CONSTITUTION: A recording sheet 7 is guided by a sheet guide 9 and, after once lowered, it is conveyed upward and conveyed to the pressure contacting part between a recording head 1 and a platen roller 5 at a defined angle. In this case, since the resultant force F of tensile forces generated by the recording sheet 7 acts toward the rotation center shaft 2a of a head holding member 2, the pressing force of a pressing spring 4 is not affected. Accordingly, the pressure contacting force between the recording head 1 and the platen roller 5 due to the pressing spring 4 is always constant, without being affected by the tensile force accompanying the conveyance of a sheet, maintaining stable recording performance while enabling a device as a whole to be miniaturized.
