A recording medium 148 has a recording layer 146 and covered by a protective layer 147 so as to form a layer structure. The recording medium 148 has a substrate and the recording layer 146 with pores. The recording medium 148 is processed by an image recording apparatus, and an image 106 is recorded on the recording layer 146. By superimposing the protective film 147 over the recording layer 146, the image 106 substantially remains the same.
