Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering methyl nitrite, capable of solving recovery and safety problems accompanied by the recoveries of the methyl nitrite and nitrogen monoxide contained in a purged gas recovered from a zone for producing the methyl nitrite and capable of efficiently and safely recovering the methyl nitrite and the nitrogen monoxide as useful components contained in the purged gas.
SOLUTION: This method for recovering methyl nitrite comprises bringing a purged gas recovered from a zone for producing the methyl nitrite into contact with methanol in a methyl nitrite-recovering tower to allow the methanol to absorb the methyl nitrite contained in the purged gas, recovering the obtained methanol solution of the methyl nitrite, and further bringing the nitrogen monoxide remaining in the methyl nitrite-separated purged gas into contact with molecular oxygen and methanol in a tower for recovering the nitrogen monoxide to produce methyl nitrite, and subsequently recovering the produced methyl nitrite methanol solution.
