To provide a recyclable recording material having excellent storage property, durability and characteristics for repeated use in which the printing material can be easily removed and to provide a device for removing the printing material from the recording material.

The recyclable recording material comprises at least a base layer and a surface layer, and the surface layer consists of water-swellable resin which is prepared by crosslinking water-soluble resin with an epoxy crosslinking agent. The water-soluble resin is prepared by modifying polyacrylic acid having ≥10,000 mol.wt. with anions by 1 to 40 mol%. The device for removing the printing material is used for the above recording material.
