The remote controller includes an operation part for performing remote control of a water heater executing energy saving operation, and a display part displaying information such as the operating state of the water heater and the operating state of the operation part. By operation by the operation part, a setting menu screen 170 for the energy saving operation is displayed in the display part. In the setting menu screen 170, the energy saving operation can be achieved, and a plurality of use form patterns which can be executed independently are displayed when selected simultaneously. By the operation of the operation part, the use form pattern can be freely selected optionally. The pattern is set and displayed so as to enable a user to estimate beforehand a type of an effect received by the user by the energy saving operation of the water heater executed when the use form pattern is selected. The remote controller makes the water heater execute the energy saving operation corresponding to the selected use form pattern.
