Abstract:
To provide a rotation transmitting device wherein engagement in phases other than a predetermined phase is prevented even if an electromagnetic coil or the like is malfunctioning.
In a clutch, a first shaft 1 and a second shaft 2 are provided with respective pluralities of teeth 3b and 5b and either the first shaft 1 or the second shaft 2 is axially moved to engage and disengage the pluralities of teeth 3b and 5b of the shafts to transfer and shut off torques. A phase determining means which engages only in a predetermined circumferential phase is provided between the first shaft 1 and the second shaft 2.
