Abstract:
To reduce the risk of traffic flow disturbance at an intersection or contact/collision with other traffic participants during operation of a risk mitigation function.SOLUTION: In a running control device of a vehicle 1 having an automatic operation device with remote monitoring/operation, which has a risk mitigation function (RMF) for stopping the vehicle 1 at a target stop position when it is difficult to continue the remote monitoring/operation, and an override function for transferring to a manual operation mode by stopping automatic running by an occupant's operational intervention. On the basis of location information and map information on the vehicle 1, a plurality of target stop position candidates are searched, and when a target stop position candidate located on a route different from an automatic running target route PA is selected as a target stop position from among the plurality of target stop position candidates near an intersection, an override threshold which is a determination criterion of the occupant's or a passenger's operational intervention is changed to a value larger than the override threshold during non-operation of the RMF.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
