Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator with a thin thickness, an excellent hot alkaline resisting property, and a high liquid retentivity, by a wet type sheet manufacturing of a polyolefin synthetic pulp, and a short fiber of a polyolefin based resin including a surfactant.
SOLUTION: By mixing about 30 to 95wt.% if polyolefin synthetic pulp, and about 7 to 70wt.% of short fiber consisting of a polyolefin based resin including a surfactant, they are mixed by a wet type sheet manufacturing method to make into a sheet, so as to form a separator for battery. The mean fiber length of the polyolefin based synthetic pulp is preferable to make at about 0.5-to 3mm, while its freeness is preferable to be less then 6sec/g. The interface activator is preferable to be scatted about 0.1 to 10% in the resin. It is preferable that the pulp and the short fiber are combined each other by a thermal fusion, in the separator. Since this separator has a good texture, and an even distribution of pore sizes, the gas permeability is good, and the capacity of the battery can be increased.
