To perform a post treatment to a printed sheet as required by providing one of a transfer cylinder with a rigid solid coat face and making a varnishing apparatus, a number-printing apparatus and an impression apparatus correspond to the transfer cylinder.
In a printing apparatus 1 installed in a sheet-feed rotary press, a printed sheet is transferred from an impression cylinder 5 to transfer cylinders 6, 7 and delivered to, e.g. a chain paper-discharging device 8. A varnishing apparatus 11 detachably supporting a varnish blanket cylinder 13, transition dipping rollers 14, 15 and a varnish pan 16 is arranged to correspond to the transfer cylinder 7 between two frame parts 12. The varnish blanket cylinder 13 transfers varnish to the sheet, e.g. supplied to a coat face 10 of the transfer cylinder 7 behind two gripper systems 9. In this case, the coat face 10 of the transfer cylinder 7 is formed to be a rigid solid face, that is, uniform rigid face without notches or projections so as to enable perfect varnishing, number- printing and impression without fail.
