To enhance adhesive strength between 1st and 2nd back coating layers by mutually crosslinking polymers contained in the layers by reaction with a crosslinking agent so that the layers are joined.

This silver halide photographic sensitive material has at least one silver halide emulsion layer on one side of the substrate, a 1st back coating layer contg. a polymer on the other side and a 2nd back coating layer contg. the same polymer as the 1st back coating layer or a different polymer on the 1st back coating layer. The polymers contained in the two back coating layers are chemically bonded by crosslinking so that adhesive strength between the layers is enhanced. A corsslinking agent used is, e.g. polyamide-epichlorohydrin resin, alum, aldehydes or a polyisocyanate. This polyisocyanate is preferably used.
