Main components are a slider 100, a case 200 and a connector 300. The slider 100 has protrusions 111 at both arcuate ends of a slider body 110. The surface of one protrusion contains a coated metal layer 130 and the center on the upper face of the slider body 110 is provided with a sliding knob 120 in which a slitting 121 and a sliding groove 122 are formed. A case 200 has a slide window 211 on a top plate 210 into which the sliding knob 120 is inserted and joined for sliding the slider 100 along the inner wall faces of both sidewalls 220, 230. A sliding face has a plurality of positioning grooves 221, 231 in which a code electrode portion 250 containing a code pattern electrode 251 and a common electrode 252 is formed. The code electrode portion 250 is conducted via a metal layer 130 to output its positional code information through code pattern wiring 260 and the connector 300.
