Abstract:
To provide a strand manufacturing apparatus, a strand manufacturing method and a fiber-reinforced resin strand that do not cause a twist during the production of the fiber-reinforced resin strand and can contribute to improved productivity by suppressing strand breakage in a wide linear speed range without increasing the size and complexity of a winding mechanism.SOLUTION: A strand manufacturing apparatus 100 produces a fiber-reinforced resin strand by impregnating one or more fiber bundles 15, which contain reinforcing fibers and are continuously conveyed, with a molten resin. The strand manufacturing apparatus 100 includes: a twisting section 20 that rotates the fiber bundle 15 around an axis of the fiber bundle 15 to impart a twist to the fiber bundle 15; a resin bath section 30 that impregnates the fiber bundle 15 with a molten resin; and a take-up section 50 that winds the fiber reinforced resin strand impregnated with the molten resin. The twisting section 20 is located upstream of the resin bath section 30 in a transport direction of the fiber bundle 15.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
