Title:
SUPERCONDUCTING RHEOSTAT AND DISPLACEMENT CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6437885
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To detect displacement or change resistance in a noncontact manner by fitting electrodes at both ends of a ceramic superconductor piece, moving a shifting magnetic field in parallel with the superconductor piece and changing the strength of a magnetic field. CONSTITUTION:A current electrode 2 and a voltage electrode 3 are set up at both ends of a ceramic superconductor piece 1. A magnet 4 is moved in the direction of the arrow (d), and resistance variation corresponding to displacement is measured through the electrode 2 or 3. Accordingly, displacement is detected. The resistance of the superconductor piece 1 is altered by varying the strength of a magnetic field applied, thus acquiring a rheostat.
