Abstract:

To provide a calcium phosphate surface-treated crystalline glass that has special surface structure suitable as a dental material such as crown, inlay, bridge and the like.

This surface-treated calcium phosphate crystalline glass is composed of a plurality of aggregation of amorphous zones having a plurality of parallel grooves where the directions of the parallel lines differs from each other in adjacent amorphous zones. This glass is prepared by a treating the calcium phosphate crystalline glass with a solution of an alkali metal carbonate such as sodium carbonate.
