PURPOSE: To provide a taking in and out device with falling preventing device in which a receiving rail for working a falling preventing device onto a strut is dispensed with, and the nipping work from lateral sides can be independently performed.

CONSTITUTION: The raising and lowering movement of a carriage 16 can be performed without laterally shaking by winding or delivering a rope 32 by a lifting driving device, thereby guiding a guide roll 23 by the guide surface 14a of a strut 14. A falling preventing device 40 is situated in non-working position, and the carriage 16 can be lifted without hindrance. When the rope 32 is cut during suspending work, and the suspending force is released, the falling preventing device 40 acts on both the guide surfaces 14a of the strut 14 from both sides, and the carriage 16 is integrated to the strut 14 side to prevent the falling.
