PURPOSE: To attain free message exchange independently of a dialect and a language by converting a content of a mail into an intermediate language while referencing an input conversion dictionary corresponding to a district of a caller station and converting the intermediate language while referencing an output conversion dictionary corresponding to a district of a called station.

CONSTITUTION: A district specific circuit 12 specifying each district of a caller station and a called station selects an input and an output conversion dictionary corresponding to each district, When the input and the output conversion dictionary are selected, an input converter 13 converts a content of a mail received by a caller station into an intermediate language while referencing the selected input conversion dictionary. On the other hand, an output converter 14 converts the content of the mail converted into the intermediate language by the converter 13 into a language of a district at the called station while referencing the selected output conversion dictionary. Thus, even when districts in which a dialect causes a language barrier are communicated, the electronic mail device 11 exchanges freely a message through an electronic mail and daily conversation between remote locations is attained by using a daily used language itself without use of a standard language.
