PURPOSE: To forge a steel plate continuously with superior manufacture efficiency by forming molten steel into the steel plate by two cooling rolls, shell leveling rolls, and rolling rolls.
CONSTITUTION: The molten steel 1 from a molten steel storage tank 10 is supplied into a molten steel pool 9 through a passage 12 and drawn out in the form of a cast plate 11" by the reverse rotations of a couple of cooling rolls 1 and 1 provided over the pool. The cooling rolls 1 and 1 are made of material with superior conductivity such as copper; their insides are cooled with a colling medium such as water and their interval is adjusted according to the thickness of the manufactured steel plate. The cast plate 11" which is cooled by the cooling rolls and drawn upward while a solidified cell 11' is formed is sized into a straight plate by the shell leveling rolls 14 and 14 and then rolled to a specific thickness by a couple of rolling rolls 13 and 13 at a position higher than a crater end 11"a, thus casting the steel plate continuously and directly.
