Abstract:
To provide a method for effectively separating lignin and an alkaline component from an alkaline black liquor discharged by a paper or paper pulp manufacturer and for purifying water obtained after separation.
An acid is added to the black liquor to adjust its pH to 2.5 to 3.5 and then a coagulant is added to it to precipitate the lignin in the black liquor to separate the lignin and the clean water. The clean water after separation is purified by being subjected to catalytic reaction with ozone, preferably in the form of microbubbles.
