Abstract:
To reduce possibility of malfunction of ultraviolet sensor.SOLUTION: A metal film (e.g., a film of tungsten of crystal orientation (110)) having a work function larger than that of a base metal 12_1 and around 5.20 eV is formed not only on the face (front face 12_1a of the base metal 12_1) of a cathode electrode 12A facing the anode electrode 11 of the base metal 12_1, but also on the face of the opposite side (reverse face 12_1b of the base metal 12_1. With such an arrangement, even if fluorescent light is induced in the internal surface of a glass package 13 (the internal surface of an envelope glass 13-2 or a button stem 13-3) due to discharge between the anode electrode 11 and the cathode electrode 12A, photoelectric effect in the cathode electrode 12A by this fluorescent light is difficult to be expressed, and malfunction is difficult to occur.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
