Abstract:
To prevent a driver from excessively stepping on an accelerator pedal in a state where a vehicle is traveling on a bad road and thereby preventing a drive wheel from spinning free and to prevent abrupt vehicle behavior in response to abrupt operation made to an accelerator pedal.SOLUTION: As a control system of a vehicle, a controller 14: determines an idling rotation speed of an engine 2; controls the engines 2 so that a rotation speed of the engine 2 while the same is idling corresponds to the idling rotation speed; and controls a lock-up clutch 4b so as to be switchable among a plurality of states including an engaged state and a disengaged state. When an off-road mode is selected through a travel mode selection switch SN1, the controller 14 sets the idling rotation speed higher than the same when a normal mode is selected and prohibits the lock-up clutch from being put into the engaged state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
