Abstract:
To provide a waste stabilization system and method capable of efficiently easily inhibiting elution of a calcium component from the waste.SOLUTION: A waste stabilization method includes: sprinkling a solution including carbon dioxide exceeding a saturated dissolution amount from a sprinkling tube 13 on a waste 15 land-filled in a disposal field 5; making the sprinkled solution penetrate in the waste 15; generating calcium carbonate 21 by reaction of carbon dioxide in the solution with the calcium component included previously in the waste 15; immobilizing the generated calcium carbonate 21 in the waste 15; catching the leachate from the waste 15 in a leachate-catching tube 7 from the bottom of the disposal field 5 to collect in a water treatment facility 9; carrying out water treatment of the leachate at the facility 9 if the water quality of the collected leachate does not meet a control criteria; and sending the water treated into a prescribed water quality to an auxiliary addition device 11 to produce the solution including carbon dioxide exceeding a saturated dissolution amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
