PURPOSE: To save the consumption of a battery before usage by making the built-in battery to start normal working at the time of starting usage.

CONSTITUTION: In a card 20. an operation circuit 1, the battery 2 and a usage starting switch part 6 are mainly connected in series and the operation circuit 1 consists of a transmission/reception part 1a, a reading part 1b and a memory 1c. The usage starting part 6 consists of respective electric conductors 3 and 4 and an insulating film 5 in the middle of them. The electric conductor 3 is press-operated from the surface at the time of starting usage. Until starting to use the card, the insulating film 5 of the usage starting switch part 6 interrupts a connection circuit including the operation circuit 1 and the battery 2 to prevent the battery 2 from working so that consumption is saved. But at the time of starting usage, the respective electric conductors 3 and 4 are inserted by compressing operation from outside to break the insulating film 5 and to hold the contact of the respective electric conductors 3 and 4 so that the battery 2 works to start the function of the operation circuit 1.
