Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a yarn winding apparatus capable of reducing the time for splicing yarn by shortening the time required for catching yarn.SOLUTION: An automatic winder comprises a yarn feeding section 15, a winding section 17, a yarn splicer 37, a yarn catching guide 30, and a unit controller. The winding section 17 winds and takes up yarn 14 from the yarn feeding section 15 as a package 22. The yarn splicer 37 splices lower yarn and upper yarn when yarn 14 becomes separated between the yarn feeding section 15 and the winding section 17. The yarn catching guide 30 includes a package side suction port 33 constituted movably between a catching position for catching upper yarn from the package 22 and a guiding position for guiding the caught upper yarn to the yarn splicer 37. The unit controller controls the movement of the package side suction port 33. The unit controller performs control so that the package side suction port 33 stands by at a standby position closer to the catching position than to the guiding position during winding operation of the package 22.
