Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composite pigment having an excellent ultraviolet radiation shielding activity and a transparency to the visible light, less in coagulation and deterioration due to oxidation, excellent in the stability of its quality and useful for a sun screening cosmetic material, etc., by covering the surface of an inorganic substance with a crystalline zinc oxide membrane.
SOLUTION: This composite pigment is obtained by covering the surface of an inorganic substance with a crystalline zinc oxide membrane, and e.g. by dispersing a mica, a silica, titanium oxide, etc., in an organic solvent (e.g. xylene, ethylacetate and diethyl ether) containing an organic zinc compound such as an organic zinc salt and an alkoxy zinc, an unsaturated fatty acid and further a surface treating agent such as a silicone as necessary, removing the organic solvent, and then burning at 400-700°C.
