Abstract:
Provided is an air electrode/LDH separator assembly whereby a stacked battery-type zinc-air secondary battery suitable for high voltage and high current supply can be conveniently constructed without losing any original LDH separator or air electrode functionality. This air electrode/LDH separator assembly comprises: a rigid porous layer that is air permeable and has a rigidity defined by a displacement ratio in the compression direction that is less than 3% when pressurized at 0.1 MPa; an air electrode layer covering both surfaces of the rigid porous layer or both surfaces and an end surface of the rigid porous layer (excluding at least one end surface); and a layered double hydroxide (LDH) separator covering the outside of the air electrode layer. i) The rigid porous layer comprises metal or a conductive ceramic and, as a result, the rigid porous layer itself functions as a positive electrode current collector, or ii) the rigid porous layer comprises an insulating material, the rigid porous layer is covered by a porous metal layer, and, as a result, the porous metal layer functions as a positive electrode current collector.
