Abstract:

Provided is an imaging device which can adaptively acquire a captured image in accordance with imaging conditions. An imaging device (1) comprises: an imaging unit (10) that includes a pixel array (110) having a plurality of pixel groups each containing N×N pixels (100) (N being an integer of 2 or more), and that outputs pixel signals read out from each pixel; and a switching unit (14) that switches reading modes for reading out the pixel signals from each of the pixels of the imaging unit. The switching unit switches the reading modes between an adding mode in which each of the pixel signals read out from each of the N×N pixels contained in the pixel groups are added together to produce one pixel signal, and an individual mode in which each of the pixel signals read out from each of the N×N pixels contained in the pixel groups are output individually.
