Title:
ANTIFREEZING PROTEIN FOUND IN FISH
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2004/104201
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Eleven (11) types of antifreezing proteins obtained from junked fish Brachyopsis or Zoarces among fishes inhabited in the water area within Japan or seas close to Japan or in the water area of climate similar thereto; and their amino acid sequences and base sequences. There are further provided a process for mass production of such antifreezing proteins through genetic engineering technique using the thus obtained genes and provided a freeze concentration inhibitor or freezing-point depressant comprising these antifreezing proteins as an active ingredient.
