Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to obtain an aqueous dispersion in which dispersibility of an acid-modified ethylene·α-olefin copolymer is further improved and which exhibits excellent coatability on a substrate. The present invention relates to an aqueous dispersion composition that is characterized by: by being an acid-modified product of an ethylene·α-olefin copolymer (A) that satisfies (A1) to (A6); and by containing 0.01-50 mass% of an acid-modified ethylene·α-olefin copolymer (B) which satisfies (B1) to (B5). (A1) The content of ethylene units falls within the range 30-85 mol%. (A2) The kinematic viscosity at 100ºC falls within the range 10-5000 mm2/s. (A3) The weight average molecular weight, as measured in terms of polystyrene using gel permeation chromatography (GPC), falls within the range 1000-50,000. (A4) The molecular weight distribution of molecular weights (Mw/Mn), as measured in terms of polystyrene using gel permeation chromatography (GPC), is 2.5 or less. (A5) The value of B represented in formula [1] is 1.1 or more. [In formula [1], PE denotes the molar ratio of ethylene units, PO denotes the molar ratio of α-olefin units, and POE denotes the molar ratio of ethylene·α-olefin chains relative to the total amount of dyad chains.] (A6) The amount of unsaturated bonds, as measured using 1H-NMR, is less than 0.5 per 1000 carbon atoms. (B1) The acid value falls within the range 1-300 mg KOH/g. (B2) The apparent viscosity at 150ºC falls within the range 1-1000 cPs. (B3) The weight average molecular weight, as measured in terms of polystyrene using gel permeation chromatography (GPC), falls within the range 1000-50,000. (B4) The molecular weight distribution of molecular weights (Mw/Mn), as measured in terms of polystyrene using gel permeation chromatography (GPC), is 2.5 or less. (B5) The weight percentage of unreacted molecules, as measured using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), is 59% or less.
