An artificial nipple (100) has a nipple body section (120) connected to means (110) for installation to a feeding bottle (11) and a nipple tip section (140) that is located at the tip of a nipple section (130) and at which a tip opening (141) is provided. The wall surface from the nipple body section (120) to the nipple tip section (140) is constructed from a soft material, and a shape holding layer (150) having a material with rigidity capable of holding the shape of the wall surface is formed as an inner layer on the inner side of the wall surface. A tongue contact layer (160) having a smooth surface capable of peristaltic-like motion by tongue is formed as an outer layer on the surface side of the wall surface. A deformation absorbing layer (170) is formed between the shape holding layer (150) and the tongue contact layer (160). The deformation absorbing layer (170) has a material having lower rigidity than the materials of the shape holding layer (150) and the tongue contact layer (160), and has a thickness greater than those of the shape holding layer (150) and the tongue contact layer (160).
