Abstract:
This beam shaping lens has a first surface including a concave surface in which the shape changes smoothly, and a second surface including a convex surface in a shape that substantially corresponds to that of the concave surface. The beam shaping lens converts a first light beam, which impinges on the first surface and is parallel light having a light intensity distribution that continuously increases from an outer peripheral portion toward a central portion, to a second light beam, which is parallel light having a light intensity distribution flatter than that of the first light beam.
