Provided is a bearing device for a wheel, wherein a dam section has an improved effect of damming up muddy water, etc. This bearing device 1 for a wheel comprises: an outer ring 2 having double rows of outer rolling surfaces integrally formed on the inner periphery of the outer ring 2; a hub ring 3 having at least one inner ring 4 press-fitted in a small-diameter stepped section 3a, the hub ring 3 also having double rows of inner rolling surfaces formed on the outer periphery of the hub ring 3; double rows of balls 5a, 5b contained in a rollable manner between the respective rolling surfaces of the outer ring 2 and the hub ring 3; and an outer seal member 9 for sealing between the outer ring 2 and the hub ring 3. The bearing device 1 comprises: core metal having a circular cylinder section 9a and a circular plate section 9b, which are provided at an opening of the outer ring 2; and a lip consisting of an elastic body and provided to the circular plate section 9b. An annular dam section 9g consisting of an elastic body and protruding further radially outward than the outer peripheral surface of the outer ring 2 extends from the circular plate section 9b, and an outer member-side eaves section 9h having a circular cylindrical shape and protruding axially so as to surround the outer ring 2 is provided integrally with the dam section 9g.
