Abstract:
Disclosed is a metal button fixing member (10, 60) which is used when a button (40, 50) such as a male snap button, a decoration button, or the like, is fixed to a cloth (1, 2). The metal button fixing member (10, 60) comprises a planar base (11, 61), and a cylindrical post (12, 62) projecting from the center of the base (11, 61). Upper end face of the post (12, 62) is opened as the upper end opening (13), and the lower end face of the post (12, 62) is opened as the lower end opening (14, 64) in the center of the base (11, 61). A closing member (20, 70) which closes the lower end side in the post (12, 62) is provided for such a button fixing member (10, 60). Consequently, when the button (40, 50) is fixed to the cloth (1, 2), scraps (1', 2') of cloth which are separated from the cloth or not completely separated from the cloth and may remain in the post (12, 62), or the projecting end of the caulked post (12, 62) is not seen from the lower end opening (14, 64) on back side of the button fixing member (10, 60). The closing member (20, 70) is produced by punching the closing portion (20', 70') which closes the upper end face of the half post (12', 62') of an intermediate member (10', 60') to be processed as the button fixing member (10, 60) by means of a punch (30), and then moving the closing portion (20', 70') to the lower end side of the half post (12', 62') by means of the punch (30).
